Daylight Saving Time:
End it, don’t extend it!

Proposals in the U.S. Congress, S.670 and H.R. 1556, would force folks in Arkansas to use the wrong time year-round. Central Daylight Saving Time, which equals Eastern Standard Time, would be mandatory. That’s the mean solar time at longitude 75° west, which runs through New Jersey. Tell them to end daylight saving time, putting Arkansas on Central Standard Time year-round. That’s the mean solar time at longitude 90° west, which runs through eastern Arkansas.

If you think politicians can give you more daylight by tampering with your clock, maybe you’ll buy my cool weight-loss program that involves tampering with your bathroom scale!

Politicians should not force folks to use the wrong time, to favor one special interest group over another. Folks have a right to honest time.
